Mobile Banking Service can be accessed through the following channels:

1. Mobile Banking Service over Application

State Bank Freedom Application is available on Smart Phones (Android - with or without GPRS / iOS / Windows / Blackberry) through respective App stores and also for java enabled feature phones from here

The following functionalities are available:

  • Funds transfer (within and outside the bank)
  • Immediate Payment Services (IMPS): Click here for details.
  • Enquiry services (Account Information / Balance enquiry / Mini statement)
  • Instant Opening / Closure of Fixed, Recurring Deposits
  • Cheque book request
  • Bill Presentment and Bill Payment (Utility bills, credit cards, Insurance premium), Donations, Subscriptions
  • Mobile /DTH Top up
  • M Commerce (Merchant payments, SBI life insurance premium)
  • Postpaid Bill payments

Business Rules

  • All Current/ Savings Bank Account holders in P segment and Current account holders in SME segment are eligible.
  • Third party transaction limit per customer per day is Rs.50,000/- with no monthly CAP.
  • All customers can avail the Service irrespective of their telecom service provider.
  • The Service is free of charge. SMS/GPRS cost will be borne by the customer.

2. Mobile Banking Service over SMS

The service is available on all phones. You can send keywords as SMS to 9223440000. Click here for list of SMS formats. Ordinary SMS charges are applicable.

The following functionalities are available:

  • Enquiry Services (Balance Enquiry/Mini Statement)
  • Prepaid Mobile / MobiCash wallet Top up
  • DTH Recharge
  • IMPS Fund transfer - (Mobile number & MMID and Account Number & IFS Code)
  • Change MPIN
  • IMPS Merchant payments

Business Rules

  • All Current/ Savings Bank Account holders in P segment and Current accountholders in SME segment are eligible.
  • Transaction limit per customer per day is Rs.5,000/- with a calendar month limit of Rs.25,000/-
  • Service available over all telecom service providers.
  • The Service is free of charge. SMS cost will be borne by the customer.
  • As a precaution, Customers are requested to delete all the messages sent to the number 9223440000, once the response for their request has been received.

3. Mobile Banking Service over NUUP (National Unified NUUP Platform)

The service is available on all phones except CDMA phones. Downloading of application is not required. Subscribers have to dial *99# to avail the service.

The following functionalities are available:

  • Enquiry Services (Balance Enquiry/Mini Statement)
  • Funds Transfer (Using IFSC and Account Number)
  • Funds Transfer (Using Mobile Number and MMID)
  • MMID Retrieval
  • Change MPIN
  • OTP Generation for IMPS Merchant Payments

Business Rules

  • All Current/ Savings Bank Account holders in P segment and Current accountholders in SME segment are eligible.
  • Transaction limit per customer per day is Rs.5,000/- with a calendar month limit of Rs.25,000/-
  • The Service is available for subscribers of select telecom operators only.
  • The Service is free of charge. USSD session charges will be borne by the customer.
  • The service is session based and requires a response from the user within a reasonable time.

Registration Process

  • Send SMS MBSREG to 9223440000 to receive User ID and Default MPIN.
  • Download State Bank Freedom application (if preferred mode of channel is applicaton based) from here.
  • Change the default MPIN through application / NUUP / by sending an SMS, based on the preferred mode of operation.
  • Complete registration process instantaneously by visiting State Bank ATM, Internet Banking or Branch
    • Option 1: Activate using State Bank ATM-cum-Debit card at any State Bank ATM. Choose 'Mobile Registration > Mobile Banking Registration > Registration' and enter your 10 digit mobile number, which should be already registered with the Bank.
    • Option 2: INB (Internet Banking) > E-Services > State Bank Freedom > Register.
    • Option 3: Submit registration form at the Home Branch for immediate activation.

Registration process for Application based service

Application based Mobile Banking Service

A. DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION:

  • For Android Phones - from Google Play Store
  • For i-phones - from Apple Store
  • For Windows phones - from Windows Store
  • For Blackberry phones from Blacberry world
  • For Java phones - from here

B. REGISTRATION PROCESS:

  • Go to the Register option of the application and follow the instructions. You can also obtain user id by sending SMS MBREG to 9223440000.
  • Customers using GPRS Channel have to authenticate the handset to carry out secure transactions through internet. Please resend the SMS containing GPRS activation code (Message starts with MBSGAC) to 9223440000 to complete handset activation.
  • Login to the application. You will be forced to change the default MPIN. Enter the default MPIN in the "old MPIN" and a new MPIN of your choice (6 digits) in the "new MPIN" and confirm by entering the new MPIN once again in "Confirm new MPIN". Choose the option "Change". If you are unable to change the MPIn for reasons whatsoever, Change the default MPIN through the Application using the option "Settings" > "Change MPIN"
  • SMS - "Your MPIN is changed For Customer using GPRS channel, SMS - "GPRS now enabled for your account you can now use SB Freedom over GPRS" is received.
  • Register at ATM/Internet Banking/Branch:
    • At the ATM: swipe the Debit Card, select Mobile Registration > Mobile Banking > Registration > enter your mobile number and confirm
    • Onlinesbi: Log into OnlineSBI, select eServices > State Bank Freedom from the list on the left side > Registration > Enter User ID and mobile number > Select the account (only SB/ CA) to be enabled > submit. For adding more accounts, visit the Home branch of the primary account or other accounts.
    • At the Branch: Visit the Home Branch of your account.

Registration process for NUUP based service

NUUP (National Unified NUUP Platform)

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

  • Send SMS <MBSREG> to 9223440000. User ID and default MPIN will be sent as response to the above SMS
  • Change the default MPIN:
    • Dial *99# (Enter first four digits of IFSC Code (SBIN, SBBJ, SBHY, SBMY, SBP, SBTR) when prompted.)
    • Enter User ID and select option 7
    • Enter Old MPIN (Default MPIN received over SMS for first time user and userid separated by a space) and SEND
    • Enter New MPIN of your choice(6 characters/ digits) and SEND
    • Confirm new MPIN and SEND
    • You will get a response - "Your MPIN is changed"
  • Register at ATM / Internet Banking / Branch:
    • At the ATM: swipe the Debit Card, select Mobile Registration > Mobile Banking > Registration > enter your mobile number and confirm
    • Internet Banking: Log into OnlineSBI, select eServices > State Bank Freedom from the list on the left side > Registration > Enter User ID and mobile number > Select the account (only SB/ CA) to be enabled > submit. For adding more accounts, visit the Home branch of the primary account or other accounts.
    • At the Branch: Visit the Home Branch of your account.

Registration process for SMS Banking

SMS Banking

REGISTRATION PROCESS:

  • Send SMS <MBSREG> to 9223440000. User ID and default MPIN will be sent as response to the above SMS
  • Change the default MPIN by sending the following SMS to 9223440000: <Smpin> <UserId> <Old Mpin (or default MPIN)> <New Mpin>
  • Accept the Terms and Conditions by sending the following SMS to 9223440000: <Saccept> <UserId> <Mpin>
  • Register at ATM/Internet Banking/Branch:
    • At the ATM: swipe the Debit Card, select Mobile Registration > Mobile Banking > Registration > enter your mobile number and confirm
    • Internet Banking: Log into OnlineSBI, select eServices > State Bank Freedom from the list on the left side > Registration > Enter User ID and mobile number > Select the account (only SB/ CA) to be enabled > submit. For adding more accounts, visit the Home branch of the primary account or other accounts.
    • At the Branch: Visit the Home Branch of your account.

Mobile Banking applications are handset specific and can be downloaded on Java enabled handsets. An attempt has been made to develop a generic mobile banking applications supporting multiple handsets.

However, there may be rare cases where the above applications may not be compatible with your handsets. In such cases, please send email narrating the issue to mb.jaipur@sbi.co.in

If GPRS is activated on your mobile connection, State Bank Freedom application can be downloaded directly to the mobile handset by accessing https://mobile.onlinesbi.com from the browser application on mobile.

The application can also be downloaded through your PC in the following manner.

  • The application for feature phones can also be downloaded. Download to PC by clicking on Touch Screen Phone / Generic applications.
  • Transfer application to mobile handset using PC Suite, data cable, Bluetooth or any other suitable mechanism.
  • Please locate and install compatible application on your handset.
